The World is a beautiful, meaningless coincidence yet we have managed to make it boring and frustrating. My work is a response to being locked in a cell. It is a form of angry play.

I smash ideas together in order to say a lot of things at once. At the heart of this is a physical engagement with the work - I am in search of satisfying rhythms, colours and composition. Then, bitter and ugly human things like racism and greed are stretched over the top. By the end of it, maybe you and I won’t be bored anymore.

Closest historical artistic period I could relate myself to is the neoexpressionism of the 1980’s. This period created artists like Keith Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat - possessing incredibly unique visual languages and an immediacy to their work that they used as a form of activism. I am also influenced by Cy Twombly, Picasso, Francis Bacon, Ralph Steadman and a pantheon of other great draughtsmen. I work in acrylics and marker on large sheets of paper, canvas, boards and found objects.
